The UK Council for Educators of Medical Professionalism (UKCEMP) is a national network bringing together educators from medical schools across the UK with expertise and responsibility for professionalism education. We are committed to promoting evidence-informed, fair and consistent approaches to the teaching, learning and assessment of medical professionalism, supporting the development of safe, effective and compassionate doctors.

UKCEMP provides a collaborative forum for educators to share good practice, explore common challenges and contribute to national discussions about professionalism in medical education. We work with medical schools, students, regulators and professional bodies to promote greater clarity, transparency and consistency in professionalism expectations and processes. Our approach recognises the importance of professional identity formation, reflective practice, psychological safety and supportive educational environments, whilst maintaining the fundamental responsibility to protect patients.

Our ongoing work includes the development of a UKCEMP Professionalism Curriculum, informed by national regulatory standards and developed collaboratively with educators and students. Through our programme of events, shared learning and national engagement, we aim to support medical schools in delivering meaningful professionalism education that is educationally sound, proportionate and responsive to the evolving needs of students, educators and patients.
